Sessler Inc., a family-owned and operated contracting firm serving its local community in the Pacific Northwest since 1969, installed the DensElement™ Barrier System, an integrated exterior gypsum sheathing with a water-resistive barrier and air-barrier (WRB-AB), on a wide variety of its projects to help reduce schedule-driven challenges due to rain and other weather conditions prominent in the Pacific Northwest. Sessler Inc.’s DensElement™ Barrier System projects range from hotels, to schools, to an air force base.
“In the Pacific Northwest, 50 percent of the time it rains and the wall of the building is still wet the day after. Using the DensElement™ Barrier System allows you to put up the exterior sheathing when the wall is slightly damp providing a quicker installation time,” said Max Tooley, Project Manager at Sessler, Inc.
The DensElement™ Barrier System has an improved fiberglass mat gypsum sheathing panel with an integrated layer of water-resistive and air-barrier material. Workers can seal and apply PROSOCO R-Guard FastFlash® liquid flashing on interfaces, openings and penetrations, which can be applied even when surfaces are damp to help reduce installation time.
