Georgia-Pacific Building Products Featured in Chip Wade’s Latest Project
Pinhoti Peak is a Luxury Showcase Nestled in the North Georgia Mountains
(ATLANTA) – Georgia-Pacific, a leading commercial and residential building products manufacturer committed to developing the highest-quality products while leading with a tireless commitment to innovation, has signed on as a partner in Chip Wade’s latest project, Pinhoti Peak. The project will feature donated ForceField® Weather Barrier System, DensElement® Barrier System, ToughRock® Gypsum Boards, and DensShield® Tile Backer, all time-tested, innovative products that highlight the ability of Georgia-Pacific products to offer comprehensive solutions for exterior and interior needs of a structure.
“Throughout all of our projects, we want to use innovative building products that protect our investment, tight timelines, and reputation,” said Wade. “We are excited to work with Georgia-Pacific and experience firsthand how their integrated WRB sheathing products not only protect the building envelope but save time and money during installation.”
Pinhoti Peak, a modern luxury home nestled in the North Georgia mountains, is designed to be a showcase for the building envelope, and Georgia-Pacific building products will play a key role: ForceField® Weather Barrier System and DensElement® Barrier System, both integrated water-resistive barrier and air barrier sheathing products, will provide a critical line of defense against the elements, helping to reduce the risk of water damage and air leakage and preventing costly weather damage, both during construction and over the lifetime of the home. Pinhoti Peak has just broken ground and is scheduled to be completed in early 2022.

Both ForceField® Weather Barrier System and DensElement® Barrier System feature integrated WRB-AB sheathing products across wood and gypsum and shine the spotlight on the trend of using a system of products to protect the building envelope.
ForceField® Weather Barrier System, recently approved for sloped roof applications, brings the exterior wall protection of an integrated WRB/AB structural wood sheathing system to the roof, while helping protect against unwanted air and water. ForceField® Weather Barrier System helps reduce the risk of construction delays, minimizes steps by eliminating the roofing underlayment, and reduces labor needs, all of which may result in time and money savings for builders. A full spectrum of compatible accessories takes the guesswork out of what works well together and choosing an integrated WRB sheathing system from one manufacturer ensures that all services – warranty, shipping, tech support – are under one roof.
DensElement® Barrier System, an integrated WRB/AB gypsum sheathing system, provides high-performance, energy efficiency, and fire resistance to Pinhoti Peak, especially important since the home is being built on top of a mountain where severe weather conditions will be a common occurrence. DensElement Barrier System frees contractors from manually applying a WRB/AB over sheathing on the jobsite. Resisting normal weather conditions during construction and preventing uncontrolled air movement, it eliminates an entire step in the installation process and helps save time in labor and installation. DensDefy® Accessories includes DensDefy® Liquid Flashing and DensDefy® Transition Membrane, for use as rough-opening protection and transition components for connecting dissimilar materials to maintain air and moisture barrier continuity; and DensDefy™ Liquid Barrier, which provides a highly durable, monolithic, elastomeric water-resistive barrier over non-water resistive substrates.
ToughRock® Gypsum Boards are durable interior wallboards available in multiple types like lightweight, mold- and moisture-resistant, fire-rated Type X, and more.
DensShield® Tile Backer is the first backer board with an integrated moisture barrier, which does away with the time-consuming and often costly extra installation step of adding an additional, separate membrane. Choosing DensShield® Tile Backer helps reduce material and labor costs as well.
