ToughRock® Sheathing and ToughRock® Fireguard X® Sheathing

ToughRock® Sheathing is a moisture-resistant substrate* for use in new building construction or renovation work that is covered by a cladding such as vinyl or fiber cement siding, masonry veneer, or wire lath stucco.

ToughRock® Fireguard X® Sheathing is UL and ULC classified for use in a variety of fire-rated assemblies.

Details

  • 5/8" (16.9mm) ToughRock® Fireguard X® Sheathing is UL and ULC classified and can be used in a variety of fire-rated wood and steel-framed assemblies. Search the assemblies library for details.
  • This sheathing should be installed according to the Gypsum Association Publication GA-253, GA-254, and ASTM C1280.
  • Designed for direct mechanical attachment with screws, nails or staples to wood and metal framing.
  • Moisture-resistant, non-combustible (as described and tested in accordance with ASTM E136) gypsum core.
  • Facers on both sides are moisture-resistant, recycled paper.

Applications

For use in new building construction or renovation work that is covered by a cladding such as vinyl or fiber cement siding, masonry veneer, or wire lath stucco.

* ToughRock Sheathing is not intended for long-term exposure to the weather. Local weather conditions will dictate the length of time sheathing may be left exposed. The sheathing should be covered by an exterior finish cladding or building felt or equivalent protection if weather conditions will be severe during construction.
